Robert Ascroft is one of the most sought after Photographers working today. Moving seamlessly through the landscape of Entertainment Key Art, Celebrity Portrait, Sports, Fine Art, Fashion, Beauty and Advertising assignments. His work has been described as Richly Cinematic Beauty Lighting that is crafted and precise with an innate sensibility to capture an intimate moment. On set he creates an atmosphere of comfort and professionalism that has endeared his work to numerous global brands. His esteemed client list includes Netflix, Hulu, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Estee Lauder, Universal Music, SONY, Rolex, PUMA, Reebok, Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez, T Magazine and many more.
As a former Rochester native, Ascroft grew up working at Kodak learning firsthand how to produce film. His experience led him to work in NYC and LA, shooting and filming for renowned commercial & entertainment clients. When he is not on set he can be found in the recording studio composing music. His combined love for music and movement is reflected in custom-composed tracks for his videos. Ascroft created Intervals, a multimedia project blending his music composition with photography.
Ascroft’s fascination with building sensory experiences extends to his personal projects. In MILK, featuring HBO Westworld’s Angela Sarafyan, he constructed a glass case filled with milk to emphasize the fluid quality of Sarafyan’s movement when submerged. From designing intricate sets, to construction- he is involved in every element needed to create an immersive experience.
Robert dedicates any spare time to creative collaborations with athletes, dancers, and other artists. He can be filming an Olympian in-studio one afternoon, or shooting musicians out in a field the next day. Ascroft is a family man and bases himself out of New York and Los Angeles, but also works on locations around the world.
