The New Yorker: Bill Hader
Kwaku Alston's early photography assignments from The New Yorker were a game-changer for his career development. Fast forward to 2023, he had the honor of shooting with the talented Bill Hader. For the shoot, he went back to basics with his #Deardorff 8x10 camera and expired B&W film, focusing on composition and mood. Shooting with a large format 8x10 film camera is where Kwaku feels most at home, allowing for a collaborative effort between subject and photographer, where creativity happens in the moment.
