Walter Iooss: One of the Most Iconic Photographers in Sports


Born in 1943, Walter Iooss Jr. picked up a camera at the age of 15 and never put it down. Just two years later, he landed his first assignment with Sports Illustrated, launching a career that would come to define the visual language of sports.

Over the years, Iooss shot more than 300 covers for Sports Illustrated, photographing legends like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and many more. He gave sports soul.

Today, he’s considered one of the most iconic sports photographers in history.
